VIERA, Fla. - The sight of Jordan Zimmermann taking the mound at Space Coast Stadium isn't particularly jarring. The sight of Jordan Zimmermann taking the mound at Space Coast Stadium wearing an old English D on his cap, however, is going to be quite jarring.

In a surprising twist of fate, Zimmermann will be making his Tigers debut this afternoon against the organization he departed after nine seasons (the last six in the major leagues). Former Nationals teammates say they'll be happy to see him and will offer some good-natured ribbing along the way. And I think it's safe to say Nats fans will give Jordan a warm welcome back.

It's also a nice twist of fate that Stephen Strasburg will be opposing Zimmermann today because the two right-handers really were the foundation of the Nationals' pitching renaissance. Along with Strasburg, A.J. Cole, Shawn Kelley, Taylor Hill, Sammy Solis and Rafael Martin are scheduled to pitch today.
