#TBT to "Nationals Classics": A healthy filling of homers for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, NatsTown!

I hope your Turkey Day is filled with family, friends, delicious food and drink, and football!

But if your family is more of a baseball-first kind of group, then we've got a treat for you. Instead of watching the traditional slate of football games this afternoon, tune in to MASN for the first of not one, not two, but three(!) "Nationals Classics" from this past season we're airing this week as part of our Throwback Thursdays!

Our holiday special is one of two 2017 classics we've already featured this offseason in a #TBT post, but that are no less enjoyable to watch as Nationals fans.

Tune in to MASN at 5:30 p.m. to watch Stephen Strasburg extend his eventual record-breaking scoreless innings streak by dominating the Phillies, as the Nats claimed their fourth National League East title in six years on Sept. 10.

And if that's not enough to hold you over for the week, we have leftovers coming your way on Saturday and Monday!

On Saturday, Nov. 25, we've got a healthy filling of Nationals homers for those of you who are still starving for baseball. If you missed the home run derby the Nationals put on against the Brewers on July 27, you better tune in to MASN on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. because this is what you missed:

* The Nationals tied a franchise record with eight home runs in a 15-2 rout
* They hit four straight dingers in a five-homer third inning
* It was the eighth time a team homered back-to-back-to-back-to-back
* It was the sixth time a team has gone deep five times in one inning
* Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman each hit a pair of longballs
* Max Scherzer recorded his 200th strikeout for the sixth consecutive season on his 33rd birthday
* Andrew Stevenson recorded his first major league hit

And as if that weren't enough 2017 #TBT moments, we're re-airing a third on Monday, Nov. 27! Catch Howie Kendrick's walk-off grand slam against the Giants from Aug. 13 at 12:30 p.m. on MASN!

Here are the rest of the "Nationals Classics" airing on MASN throughout the week as the holiday season officially gets underway:

Friday, Nov. 24, 12:30 p.m. - Once again, we have another classic game featuring the Nationals and Cubs. This June 15, 2016 game was a back-and-forth affair at Nats Park between two first-place teams. After the Cubs had taken leads in the ninth and 12th innings, the Nats clawed back to extend the game and Jayson Werth drove in the game-winning run for a 5-4 victory.

Tuesday, Nov. 28, 9 a.m. - In Strasburg's second career start, he struck out eight Indians over 5 2/3 innings of two-hit ball in Cleveland on June 13, 2010 to earn back-to-back wins in his first two starts.

Wednesday, Nov. 29, noon - Zimmerman's second home run of the day on July 6, 2010 against the Padres was the game-winner. Mr. Walk-off hit the walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth for a 6-5 win.
