#TBT to "Nationals Classics": Zimmerman homers twice in return, Nats beat Braves 10-5

We couldn't end the year without giving you at least one more Ryan Zimmerman moment:

What happened: After missing some time due to back soreness, he made a triumphant return, hitting his 18th and 19th homers of the season and tying Vladimir Guerrero for the franchise home run record. Zimmerman finished the day going 3-for-4 and driving in three runs in the Nationals' 10-5 victory over the Braves.

Celebrate the new year with some more "Nationals Classics" on MASN:

Friday Dec. 29, 9 a.m. - The Orioles were on the verge of a sweep in the 2009 Battle of the Beltways, but the Nats rallied and Adam Dunn's ninth-inning walk-off grand slam sent the Birds back up the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. It was his second homer of the game and he ended the day with a career-high six RBIs.

Saturday Dec. 30, 3 p.m. - Before you pop champagne bottles to ring in the new year, take a few pointers from one of the Nats' many playoffs celebrations from the last few years. In their quickest game of the 2014 season, the Nats became the first team to secure a playoff spot, clinching their second National League East title in three years against the Braves at Turner Field on Sept. 16.

Sunday, Dec. 31, 12:30 a.m. - The Nats started the 2013 season with fireworks - Bryce Harper hit two homers in his first two at-bats and Stephen Strasburg dominated the Marlins with seven scoreless innings (retiring 19 in a row) in the 2-0 opening day victory.

Tuesday Jan. 2, noon - Start the new year with fond walk-off victory memories. We're taking you all the way back to the Nats' inaugural season in D.C. to a 12-inning thriller against the Phillies that ended with an RBI single from center fielder Preston Wilson. The Nats won 5-4 at RFK Stadium under the leadership of Frank Robinson.

Happy New Year! See you in 2018.
