Arrieta completes two innings

Jake Arrieta is charged with one run and two hits in two innings. He also walked two batters. Arrieta threw 33 pitches, 17 for strikes. The Tigers' run scored when shortstop Nick Green misplayed Brennan Boesch's pop-up for a hit with two outs in the first inning. Detroit starter Rick Porcello retired the first eight Orioles before Cesar Izturis' bloop single into left field. Randy Winn swung at the next pitch and bounced into a force. Ryan Drese has entered the game in the top of the third inning. I told you earlier that Derrek Lee wouldn't make his debut tomorrow in Sarasota. Here's what manager Buck Showalter told reporters: "The good news is there's no problem at all with the thumb. It feels good. He's got a lot of things he's firing on that he hasn't used in a while and he's got some soreness here (pointing to top of wrist). He did some tee work and soft toss today. "Not real sore, no acute pain or anything. Just kind of there. We've got time. No sense in rushing."
