Checking on Reimold (updated)

Nolan Reimold is starting at first base today for Triple-A Norfolk. The Tides are losing to Durham, 5-1, in the fifth. Brandon Snyder has been making the bulk of the starts at first since coming off the disabled list, but he's not in the lineup. Reimold has posted a .464 on-base percentage in 34 games since July 17. That's the third-highest percentage in the International League. Former Oriole Justin Turner is first at .474 during that span. Reimold is batting .308 (36-for-117) with four home runs, 16 RBIs and 31 walks in those 34 games. He also leads the league in walks this month with 19. But his RBI yesterday was his first one in the last 10 games. The Orioles are expected to recall him when rosters expand in September. Manager Buck Showalter wants to take a look at him for evaluation purposes. Chris George allowed four runs and six hits in 2 2/3 innings this afternoon. Cla Meredith replaced him and gave up a run and three hits in one inning. Meredith is trying to take some air out of his 6.31 ERA. Scott Moore, starting at third base, committed his 11th error. Update: Reimold went 2-for-4 with an RBI, run scored and walk in Norfolk's 8-4 loss. Robert Andino went 3-for-4 with a double, walk and RBI. Jeff Salazar had a home run, double and two RBIs. Dennis Sarfate struck out one in a scoreless ninth. Kam Mickolio allowed two runs and three hits, with a walk and two strikeouts, in one inning to leave his ERA at 7.07. Going back to today's trivia question, Matt Stairs is the active player who has homered for the most teams (11). Jose Guillen is runner-up (10).
