First inning update (w/minor league note)

It happens with every Kevin Millwood start. The first inning must be reviewed. Millwood didn't allow a run tonight. Chone Figgins singled with one out, but was stranded. Millwood permitted at least two runs in the first inning in 11 of his last 14 starts. He gave up a single run in the first in his most recent outing, raising the total to 35. Millwood got through the first tonight on 12 pitches. You probably noticed the Seattle lineup change. Matt Tuiasosopo replaced Ryan Langerhans in left field. Still waiting to find out why. The Orioles are hoping to schedule Manny Machado's physical for Thursday, but they might have to wait until the next homestand to introduce him to the Camden Yards crowd. It's conceivable that Machado will play for one of the affiliates before the minor league seasons are over. He could get more at-bats at the Orioles' Dominican academy. Daniel Klein, the third-round pick out of UCLA, is expected to pitch for Aberdeen within the next few days. He could move up to Single-A Frederick, depending on how he's throwing and feeling. He kept working out while the Orioles negotiated with his representative. Down on the farm, Lou Montanez hit his first home run for Triple-A Norfolk, a solo shot off Gwinnett's Kenshin Kawakami.

No longer scoreless (or hitless)
