Game 3 preview vs. Braves: Nieves on Olsen's hot start

Nats left-hander Scott Olsen gets the start tonight against the Braves' veteran Tim Hudson as the Nats look for their fifth series win of the season. Olsen, coming off a lights out performance in the win over Florida last Friday night, is 7-1. He tossed six innings and allowed five hits and no earned runs, while striking out four and walking three. He has a current 13-inning scorelesss streak. Catcher Wil Nieves likes what he has seen so far from Olsen: "He has been attacking the strike zone. His fastball is at 89 and 90 miles per hour. That's what he needed to happen. He is getting his arm strength back. He is pitching in and out. His slider is really good and his changeup is very good. He is throwing his best stuff to the hitters. That is how he is supposed to pitch." I asked Wil about Olsen's new pitch this season, a sinker: "He has got a good sinker now. That's a great pitch. Especially against righties and you go inside and you throw sinkers away. That's a pitch he is using more this year. The time I caught him we used it a lot. I know Pudge called it a lot on Friday. It's a real good pitch for him to have in his arsenal." Be sure to check out Nats Xtra before the game for our special on set guest, two-time Pro Bowl Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall. I also heard Hall is going to throw out the first pitch!
