Injury updates on Wolf and Ford; lineups

Orioles pitcher Randy Wolf underwent an MRI on his left elbow today and will consult with Dr. Lewis Yocum, who performed his ligament-reconstructive surgery back in 2005. The club isn't saying much about the injury beyond how Wolf felt discomfort in the elbow while throwing a curveball in the fifth inning of Saturday's start in Boston. Manager Buck Showalter wouldn't discuss Wolf's status with reporters until conferring with the veteran pitcher. Showalter said there are two or there options for Wolf. Obviously, one of those options involves another surgery of some type. Team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens will review the MRI and examine Wolf's elbow later today. Lew Ford isn't in tonight's lineup against Blue Jays left-hander Aaron Laffey because he's bothered by a sore groin. Ford wasn't in the lineup yesterday after experiencing discomfort on Sunday while running to first base, and he's probably not available tonight, though Showalter won't broadcast it to the other team. Ford had an ice wrap on his upper leg yesterday and continues to receive treatment. Also, Jason Hammel may attempt to throw off a regular mound today to test his right knee. He's thrown off the front slope. For the Orioles: Nate McLouth LF J.J.
