Is Castillo next?

Cla Meredith is heading to Triple-A Norfolk. You have to wonder whether Alberto Castillo will be nipping at his heels. Maybe not that close, but Castillo hasn't exactly taken full advantage of his latest opportunity in the Orioles' bullpen. His roster spot is in jeopardy. Again. Castillo entered today's game as the lefty specialist and served up a two-run homer to Lyle Overbay on his first pitch, a slider that left the ballpark in a hurry. That's the fifth homer allowed by Castillo in 12 appearances covering 7 2/3 innings. He's surrendered 13 hits and walked three, and his ERA sits at 11.74. That isn't very special. It also illustrates the one major consequence in changing Will Ohman's role. Who the heck is going to replace him? Left-handers have eight hits off Castillo in 4 2/3 innings. They've accounted for four of the five home runs. They were batting .368 against him before today. Is he the next one to go? Should the Orioles just ditch the lefty specialist role and try to find someone who can get outs? That's my vote.
