Jimenez listed among Orioles' starters for Royals series

In case anyone was wondering, Ubaldo Jimenez is set to receive another start for the Orioles next week.

Manager Buck Showalter can prepare to be asked about it daily.

The Orioles are listing TBD, Jimenez and Chris Tillman as their starters for the Royals series that begins Monday night at Camden Yards.

Showalter must replace Mike Wright, who was optioned yesterday to Triple-A Norfolk. Relievers T.J. McFarland and Vance Worley are two candidates. Yovani Gallardo is not, with the Orioles wanting him to make another rehab start Tuesday.

The Royals are listing Danny Duffy, Yordano Ventura and Edinson Volquez as their starters.

Six straight Red Sox batters reached, with Xander Bogaerts extending his hitting streak to 26 games with a bases-loaded two-run double off the left-center field fence and David Ortiz launching a three-run homer to right field.

Bogaerts came extremely close to a grand slam, the ball hitting halfway up the padding.

A 4-0 lead disappeared, but the Orioles' power resurfaced in a 12-7 victory at Camden Yards that gave them a split of the four-game series and moved them within one of first place in the American League East.

Jimenez retired 12 of 13 batters before Hanley Ramirez led off the fifth with a single for Boston's first hit of the night.

In his last five starts, Jimenez has allowed 28 runs (24 earned) and 33 hits with 16 walks in 21 2/3 innings. He's 2-6 with a 6.59 ERA in 11 starts.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, last night's game marked the third time in Orioles history that all 12-plus of their runs came via home runs. It also happened on May 28, 1996 in Seattle and Sept. 26, 2012 versus the Blue Jays.
