MacDougal promoted to Syracuse; Nats sign Jason Jones

There were several moves in the Nats organization of note Thursday, including promotions of RHP Mike MacDougal and RHP Erik Arnesen Triple-A Syracuse. It's been a long road back for MacDougal after being released by the Marlins at the end of spring training. The Nats' save leader last year is now one step away from the major leagues again. It was a big day for RHP Cole Kimball and INF Tim Pahuta as they were promoted to from Potomac to Harrisburg. Kimball, 24, was Potomac's primary closer. His 1.82 ERA led P-Nat relievers and ranked among the best in the Carolina League. He was six for seven in his save opportunities. His six saves was also among Carolina League Leaders. Kimball was named Potomac's Relief Pitcher of the Month for April. Pahuta, 27, leaves the Carolina League second in home runs with ten. He led the P-Nats in HR (10), Slugging (.593) and extra base hits (21) and was second on the team with 28 RBI. Pahuta was named Potomac's Hitter of the Month for April. INF Ofilio Castro was placed on the disabled list with a left oblique strain. The Washington Nationals signed RHP Jason Jones and assigned him to the Senators. Jones was in the Minnesota Twins' organization and is a 6'5" hurler originally from Pasadena, MD.

The key decision
I'm going with the cursed theory at this point
