Markakis muscles up (walk-off home run for Wieters)

No need to wonder when Orioles right fielder Nick Markakis is going to hit his first home run. Or his second. Today's doubleheader took care of both questions. Markakis has homered in both ends, his solo shot tying Game 2, 5-5, in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Pirates took a 5-4 lead in the top half on Starling Marte's RBI single off Ryan Webb, who replaced left-hander Troy Patton. But the Orioles have tied the game for the second time tonight. Jane, how do you stop this crazy thing? Markakis launched a 92 mph cutter from Pirates reliever Bryan Morris into the right field seats, dropping his bat and taking a few seconds to admire his work. He knew it was gone. Markakis has tied Al Bumbry for ninth place on the Orioles' all-time hits list with 1,403. He's hit safely in nine straight games. Brian Matusz has entered the game in the top of the eighth. The fun continues here at Camden Yards, where an announced crowd of 28,290 is in for the long haul. Manny Machado is 0-for-4, failing to get the ball out of the infield. But he's dived for a ball down the line and for a foul pop up without injuring himself. Machado made a nice play to retire Andrew McCutchen in the eighth, charging the ball and making a strong throw to first. Just like we saw him do so many times in 2013. Update: Extra innings. Why not? Darren O'Day threw 11 pitches in Game 1 and he's up to 13 in Game 2 as Tommy Hunter warms in the bullpen. Update II: Matt Wieters led off the bottom of the 10th by lining a home run to right field, the ball squeezing inside the foul pole, to give the Orioles a 6-5 win and a sweep of the doubleheader. Wieters connected off Stolmy Pimentel for his fifth home run of the season. Tommy Hunter got the save in Game 1 and the win in Game 2.

Opposite dugout: High-scoring Twins hope to get we...
Notes on Tillman and Jones (we're tied)
