MASN announces 2014 Orioles broadcast schedule

MASN, the television home of the Baltimore Orioles, today announced its Major League Baseball schedule for the 2014 season, the team's 60th anniversary campaign. Once again, all Orioles games broadcast by MASN will be available in crystal-clear high definition, including the season opener at Camden Yards against the World Series champion Boston Red Sox on March 31. Other highlights of MASN's 2014 Orioles schedule include interleague games against the Washington Nationals (July 7-8 and July 9-10), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (April 29-30 and May 20-21), Milwaukee Brewers (May 26-28), St. Louis Cardinals (Aug. 8-10), Chicago Cubs (Aug. 22-24) and Cincinnati Reds (Sept. 2-4) of the National League Central. The Orioles will have 94 games air live on MASN and MASN HD, and an additional 62 games will be broadcast on MASN2 and MASN2 HD. Six Orioles games are currently scheduled to air on national networks in 2014. Gary Thorne and Jim Hunter will again share play-by-play duties in the MASN broadcast booth, where they will be joined by Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer and Orioles Hall of Fame shortstop Mike Bordick as color analysts. Thorne begins his 29th season of Major League Baseball play-by-play coverage, his eighth with the Orioles, and Hunter returns for an 18th season as part of the Orioles broadcast team. Palmer enters his 22nd season as a color analyst for the Orioles, his only team in a 19-year major league career. Bordick is in his third season in the MASN booth. MASN will simulcast 20 Orioles games on WJZ-TV (Channel 13). These MASN simulcasts on WJZ-TV will occur on Monday, March 31, for the season opener against the Boston Red Sox, and on select dates.
