Minor league roundup: P-Nats score early in win; Ankiel another base hit

Here'S a look at how the Nationals' minor league affiliates fared Wednesday: Single-A Hagerstown: The Suns managed four hits, but struck out 10 times in a 3-0 loss at home to Lexington. Rick Ankiel got two at-bats in as the designated hitter, walking and smacking a single. Single-A Potomac: The P-Nats tallied four runs in the first innings to cruise past Myrtle Beach 6-3. Catcher David Freitas had three hits, including an RBI single. Justin Bloxom walked with the bases loaded and later added an RBI double. Kevin Keyes cranked two run single. Right-handed pitcher Matt Swynenberg (1-0) kept the ball on the ground by allowing just one fly out. Reliever Trevor Holder fired two scoreless frames. Left-hander Ryan Demmin retired six of the seven batters faced for his first save. Double-A Harrisburg: Destin Hood broke out of an early slump with a big day as the Senators won. A four-run fifth inning catapulted Harrisburg past New Britain 8-4, highlighted by a run-scoring double courtesy of Hood, who finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Jose Lozada was 3-for-4 with a run and RBI. Tim Pahuta smacked a double and scored twice. Jeff Kobernus' hit streak has reached seven games. Triple-A Syracuse: Outfielder Bryce Harper had a triple in five at-bats, but struck out three times. He is hitting .261. Tyler Moore cranked a ninth-inning solo homer and had two hits, but Syracuse lost to Lehigh Valley 7-6. Corey Brown had four hits and Jhonthan Solano with three base knocks. Brown and Bynum each with a double and a pair of RBIs. Tanner Roark (0-2) got knocked around, lasting four innings and surrendering six runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
