Nothing new on Roberts

I was told last week that second baseman Brian Roberts would be re-examined by concussion specialist Dr. Michael Collins today in Pittsburgh, but his appointment is now set for tomorrow. Brian-Roberts_Looking-Away-Tall.gifRoberts' most recent appointment was June 21. He wasn't cleared to begin full baseball activities, but he's been swinging a bat, playing catch and tracking pop ups. Roberts hasn't played since May 16 in Boston. The headaches and dizzy spells aren't as frequent, but he won't be allowed to do full baseball activities until they're completely gone. Also tomorrow, we should find out whether suspensions were handed down related to the ejection-filled series against the Red Sox that closed the first half. Kevin Gregg, Jim Johnson and Michael Gonzalez were tossed, along with manager Buck Showalter. And finally, have you seen this blog entry from Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News? If not, you should check it out. Apparently, Yankees catcher Russell Martin pushed for Matt Wieters to play ahead of him last night. American League manager Ron Washington intended to save Wieters for extra innings, which would have kept the first-time All-Star on the bench.
For starters, the Orioles need better starting pit...
