Ohman can't close it out (updated)

Update: It took 11 innings, but the Orioles halted their 10-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory. Nick Markakis singled to score Cesar Izturis, who drew a leadoff walk against Boston left-hander Hideki Okajima and moved up on Julio Lugo's sacrifice bunt. Miguel Tejada was walked intentionally, and Markakis ended this marathon. Congrats Juan Samuel. True to his pre-game word, interim manager Juan Samuel called upon left-hander Will Ohman to get the save today. Ohman allowed four earned runs last night after permitting only two in his first 27 appearances. He hasn't been sharp, giving up six runs and five hits over his last three outings covering two-plus innings going into today. The Red Sox had three right-handed hitters due up in the ninth, so Ohman most certainly was playing the role of closer. None of this lefty specialist stuff. Ohman couldn't nail down the save. Dustin Pedroia lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Mike Cameron, and we're headed to the bottom of the ninth with the score tied, 3-3. Cameron lined a single to left field and took second on Darnell McDonald's sacrifice bunt. The tying run was halfway around, and Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon began to warm up. Marco Scutaro grounded a single into left field, with Cameron holding at third. Runners on the corners and one out. Of course, this wasn't going to be easy. It wasn't going to be good, either. Pedroia, another right-handed hitter, allowed Cameron to trot home with the tying run. Blown save for Ohman. More baseball for all of us. Scott Moore's RBI double in the eighth gave the Orioles their first lead since the first inning on May 30. Too bad it didn't last long.
