Orioles and Red Sox lineups (and notes)

The Orioles lead the majors with a .318 average with runners in scoring position, ranking ahead of the Rockies (.304) and Blue Jays (.300). Catcher Caleb Joseph ranks sixth in the American League with a .371 (13-for-35) average with RISP.

Manny Machado is batting .522 (12-for-23) with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs during his five-game hitting streak. According to Elias, Machado is the first Oriole with 30 hits and 16 RBIs over a 16-game span since Melvin Mora in 2008.

Closer Zach Britton has registered 20 saves this season, including 16 in a row.

Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz has allowed 13 runs and 17 hits in the first inning in his 14 starts this season. He hasn't surrendered a home run in his last five starts, and has allowed only one to a right-handed hitter in his last 23 outings.

Right-handers are batting .294 against Buchholz this season, compared to the .237 average posted by left-handers.

The Orioles are 31-0 when leading after the seventh inning and 34-0 when leading after the eighth. They're 30-14 when they score first.
