Orioles and Royals lineups in Game 2 of series

The Orioles will try tonight to claim their seventh consecutive series, two short of the club record set in 1968.

They fell behind 3-0 last night and registered their 10th comeback victory of the season to improve to 20-9, the second-best record in the majors. They’ve won five of their last six games, 12 of 14 and 16 of 20.

Austin Hays and Gunnar Henderson are out of tonight’s lineup.

Kyle Stowers is playing left field and batting fifth. Ramón Urías is the third baseman, with Adam Frazier at second base.

Ryan Mountcastle is the designated hitter after homering twice last night, and Ryan O’Hearn is playing first base.

Adley Rutschman is catching again after going 4-for-5 last night. He’s batting .315/.429/.472 and leads the American League with 23 walks.

Kyle Gibson is 4-0 with a 3.93 ERA and 1.311 ERA in six starts. He’s 10-5 with a 3.79 ERA and 1.300 WHIP in 26 career games (24 starts) against the Royals.

Catcher Salvador Perez is 6-for-44 (.136) with two home runs and 10 strikeouts lifetime versus Gibson.

The Orioles rank second in the American League and fourth in the majors with a .341 on-base percentage, sixth in the majors with a .261 average and eighth in the majors with a .774 OPS. They’re fifth in runs scored with 158 and in walks with 117.

Twenty-year veteran Zack Greinke is 0-4 with a 6.10 ERA and 1.452 WHIP in six starts. He’s allowed 21 earned runs (22 total) and 39 hits in 31 innings.

Left-handed batters are slashing .321/.345/.571 against Greinke and right-handers are slashing .292/.325/.486.

Greinke is 3-2 with a 4.65 ERA and 1.290 ERA in 12 career games (10 starts) against the Orioles.

Mountcastle is 5-for-9 with a double and home run against Greinke. Hays is 4-for-9 and Cedric Mullins is 4-for-8.

The Royals are 7-23 overall and 1-13 at home. They’ve lost 14 of their last 17 games.

They’re the fourth team in major league history to go 1-13 or worse at home, joining the 1913 Yankees (0-14), 2016 Braves (1-13) and 1883 Philadelphia Quakers (1-13), according to STATS.

Orioles closer Félix Bautista was named the American League’s Reliever of the Month for April after going 2-1 with a 1.42 ERA and seven saves. He struck out 25 batters in 13 2/3 innings.

Bautista is the first Orioles reliever to be so honored since Jim Johnson in May 2012.

Former Orioles catcher Robinson Chirinos announced his retirement today.
