Orioles recall Wynns (plus lineups)

The Orioles have recalled catcher Austin Wynns from Triple-A Norfolk, giving them an extra position player after they optioned reliever Tayler Scott following Wednesday night's game.

Catcher Pedro Severino is ill and presumably unavailable tonight.

The Red Sox are starting left-hander David Price, but Chance Sisco gets the start behind the plate.

The bullpen had a chance to freshen up with yesterday's off-day and left-hander John Means is starting tonight. His ability to provide some length makes the Orioles more comfortable going with fewer relievers.

Wynns-Throws-Orange-sidebar.jpgWynns has appeared in 15 games with the Orioles and gone 10-for-43 (.233) with a double. He was batting .222/.328/.333 with three doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs in 36 games with Norfolk. He's thrown out 13 of 31 runners attempting to steal.

Hanser Alberto has returned and is starting at third base tonight. He joined his wife Wednesday for the birth of their second daughter.

Trey Mancini is playing first base instead of Chris Davis. Stevie Wilkerson is in left field and Anthony Santander is in right. Keon Broxton is in center field and will get his first at-bats since Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.

The Orioles have gone 1-5 against the Red Sox this season at Camden Yards.

The Orioles are 11-24 when the opponent starts a left-hander and 18-42 when it starts a right-hander.

Reliever Tanner Scott is in the clubhouse and on the taxi squad for tonight.
