Orioles won't raise ticket prices in 2015 (updated)

Despite the delay in releasing price information, the Orioles won't increase the cost of their season and single-game tickets in 2015, according to a source. camden-field-view-sidebar.jpgThe Orioles notified their season ticket holders that they will receive plan information via email on Feb. 2. In previous years this information has been available in December, which led to speculation that the Orioles might raise prices. Last year's increase in season ticket prices, which averaged about five percent, was the first since 2008. The Orioles are using an online process this year with its season plan statements, but fans still may pay by mail, phone or in person. The Orioles haven't announced a date for single-game tickets to go on sale. It won't happen this weekend at their annual FanFest at the Baltimore Convention Center. Here's a statement from Greg Bader, the Orioles vice president of communications and marketing: "We are proud that Oriole Park at Camden Yards will continue to be one of the most affordable entertainment experiences in all of sports again in 2015. Each year, we consider many factors when determining pricing but we are driven by a commitment to providing affordable, family-friendly entertainment for as many fans as possible. Given heightened interest in the team following our exciting postseason run and our American League East Championship, we elected to keep prices stable across the board." Camden Yards was rated as the eighth-most affordable experience across Major League Baseball by Team Marketing Report in 2014. The report averages the cost for a family of four to purchase game tickets, food, beverages, merchandise, and parking. Camden Yards recently was named the best stadium experience of 2014 by Stadium Journey, achieving the first perfect score in the publication's five-year history.
