Sherry named to top 'Singles in Smalltimore'

You probably know that Nicole Sherry is only the second woman to hold the position of Head Groundskeeper for a Major League Baseball team. But did you know that she's also listed in Baltimore Magazine's top singles in "Smalltimore"? Nicole-Sherry-2.jpg Pictured in a short black dress and matching high heels - a far cry from the khakis, orange polos, and sneakers we're used to seeing her sport at Camden Yards - Sherry made a list of 12 notable singles in Baltimore. The magazine's feature points to "the joys, and sometimes sorrows, of dating in a big city that feels like a small town" (hence the "Smalltimore"). But Sherry's answers to the profile questions are anything but sorrowful, as the O's head groundskeeper shows her humorous side with favorite movies like Tommy Boy and a celebrity dream date of Will Ferrell. She might personally check the weather obsessively during the baseball season, but she gets her news from "Betty, my 81-year-old neighbor." She might take pride in keeping The Yard in major league shape, but privately she exults in little things like having reached expert level on "Crazy Train" on Guitar Hero 3. And she might look as fit as the athletes who share her ballfield, but she'd take a full rack of barbecued ribs if she had to choose a last meal. For more from the O's head groundskeeper, check out the article on Baltimore Magazine's website, and see if you can pick out Sherry in the photos posted there.
