Tillman time

Let's hear it for hour naps! Actually, they leave me groggy and feeling like the day is being wasted, but it's raining here in Ocean Pines, I ate lunch and the game hasn't started. A nap seemed like a good plan, even if the original intention was to close my eyes for a few minutes and listen to Wall to Wall Baseball on MASN. A few minutes. Yeah, right. An hour later, Tom Davis and Dave Johnson were signing off and my mother was flipping through her Sopranos cookbook for that piccata recipe. We've moved on to dinner. You already know that Chris Tillman is starting tonight and Josh Bell is reintroducing himself to teammates at Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles made the roster move official while I was drooling on my pillow. Which Tillman will we see tonight? I'm hoping for the one who went 3-0 with a 1.66 ERA in three starts at Norfolk after his demotion - including a one-hit shutout in his last game - and not the one who went 0-3 with an 8.40 ERA in four starts with the Orioles. Too bad the Orioles aren't playing Charlotte tonight. Tillman earned another opportunity, and we're back to debating whether he should pitch every five days for the rest of the season and jump off the Triple-A shuttle. We understand that he rules the International League. Maybe the reminders need to stop. Tillman, Jake Arrieta, Brian Matusz, Brad Bergesen. Keep running them out there and see what you've got. Zach Britton? Yeah, him too. OK, I've run out of room in the rotation. Tillman has made one career start against Texas, allowing five runs and seven hits in six innings. Nelson Cruz homered off him. Elvis Andrus and Vladimir Guerrero went 2-for-3, and Chris Davis drove in two runs.
