Troy Patton arrested on DWI

Another Orioles pitcher is dealing with legal issues, though the severity doesn't match what's transpiring in the Dominican Republic with Alfredo Simon. According to this report from a Houston television station, left-hander Troy Patton was arrested Saturday night and charged with a DWI after police officers reported that the pitcher's car sped over a curb. Officers said he failed a Breathalyzer test, blowing a 0.14. The legal blood alcohol content limit in Texas is 0.08. Patton posted a $500 bail and was released from the Harris County Jail. He'll be summoned to court at a later date, according to 2Houston. I guess it's a strange coincidence that Patton was removed last week from Saturday's FanFest lineup, with pitcher Zach Britton replacing him. Patton had three separate stints with the Orioles last season, but he appeared in only one game, walking a batter and striking out one in two-thirds of an inning. He went 8-11 with a 4.43 ERA in 25 starts at Triple-A Norfolk, and most likely will rejoin the Tides' rotation in April, though he's expected to compete for a spot on the Orioles' pitching staff in spring training. The Orioles aren't commenting on Patton's arrest.
