Orioles and Rockies lineups

DENVER - Keon Broxton moves down to seventh in the order today as the Orioles close out their series against the Rockies and return home.

Austin Wynns is catching. Renato Núñez remains at first base with Chris Davis on the bench.

Hess-in-gray-sidebar.jpgDavid Hess comes into Coors Field today leading the majors in home runs allowed with 17. Daniel Murphy and Mark Reynolds are 0-for-2 against them. They’re the only Colorado batters to face him.

The Orioles matched last year’s season high with 17 hits last night.

German Márquez is 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.111 WHIP in 11 starts, including a shutout, and is averaging 1.6 walks and nine strikeouts per nine innings.

In his last four starts, Márquez has allowed five runs in six innings, two runs in 5 2/3, five runs in 6 1/3 and no runs in eight.

Broxton is 2-for-3 with a home run against Márquez and Jonathan Villar is 2-for-3 with a double.

The Tigers are now listing Wednesday’s starter against the Orioles as TBD instead of left-hander Gregory Soto.

Outfielder Joey Rickard was activated onto Triple-A Norfolk’s roster this morning. Left-hander Luis Gonzalez was reinstated from the injured list.
