Orioles lineup vs. Yankees

Hanser Alberto is on a roll and facing the Yankees, who are starting left-hander CC Sabathia.

There’s no way he was going to sit out tonight’s game.

alberto-hanser-base-hit-white-st-sidebar.jpgAlberto, who’s starting at third base and leading off, is 8-for-15 in his last four games and 12-for-25 against the Yankees this season. He’s slashing .442/.442/.628 against southpaws, with 19 hits in 43 at-bats.

Joey Rickard is in left field to provide another right-handed bat. Pedro Severino is catching and batting fifth. Chris Davis is at first base and Stevie Wilkerson stays in center field.

Dan Straily made his Orioles debut on April 7 with 1 1/3 relief innings. He allowed five runs and five hits and surrendered home runs to Clint Frazier and Gary Sánchez.

Straily has made three appearances against the Yankees in his career and allowed 10 runs in 13 1/3 innings.

The Orioles are on pace to surrender 338 home runs this season. The 2016 Reds hold the record with 258.

Twenty-nine of the home runs have come against the Yankees.

Sabathia has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his seven starts this season, but he’s completed six innings only once.

Tonight marks Sabathia’s 46th career start against the Orioles. He’s 20-11 with a 3.67 ERA and 1.228 WHIP in 296 1/3 innings. There aren’t many secrets on either side.

Rickard is 6-for-15 against Sabathia. Trey Mancini is 3-for-17.
