Orioles Game 1 lineup vs. Yankees (update)

NEW YORK - The Orioles recalled Evan Phillips today from Triple-A Norfolk as the replacement for reliever Tayler Scott, who was optioned yesterday. They also recalled Jimmy Yacabonis as the 26th player.

No Ty Blach, which is a reversal from what I heard yesterday.

Yacabonis could be the opener in Game 2, though the Orioles haven’t revealed their plans.

Mancini-Trots-Gray-sidebar.jpgTrey Mancini is playing first base in the opener, with Anthony Santander in right field, Jace Peterson in left and Stevie Wilkerson in center.

Hanser Alberto leads off and plays third base while the Yankees send a left-hander, James Paxton, to the mound.

Gabriel Ynoa is making his 26th appearance today. In his eight starts he’s lost all five decisions and registered a 6.45 ERA and 1.434 WHIP in only 37 2/3 innings.

Ynoa worked 4 2/3 innings in an Aug. 12 start against the Yankees and allowed three earned runs and four total. He’s made one career start at Yankee Stadium and allowed two earned runs and three total in 4 1/3 innings.

Paxton’s last start came against the Orioles Wednesday night and he held them to one run in 6 2/3 innings. Mancini homered in the fourth inning.

The Yankees swept the Orioles last week and are 13-2 against them this season. Their 52 home runs against the Orioles are a major record for an opponent in a single season.
