Ramón Urías gets the start at second base.
Jorge López retired the first 11 Rangers batters with seven strikeouts in his last start. He’s allowed seven runs and nine hits in 7 2/3 career innings against the Athletics.
Oakland left-hander Cole Irvin, drafted by three different teams, has allowed eight runs and 16 hits in 15 2/3 innings in three starts. He’s walked two batters, struck out 11 and hit three.
Combined with his two seasons with the Phillies, Irvin has gone 3-4 with a 6.20 ERA and 1.443 WHIP in 61 innings.
The splits are pretty wild. Left-handed hitters slash .403/.438/.597 against him and right-handers slash .247/.311/.420.
Irvin has never faced the Orioles.
The Orioles still have TBD for the next two starters.
Earlier today, the Orioles announced that Adrienne Roberson has been named the club’s new public address announcer, the first female to hold the position in franchise history.
Roberson is the fourth active female PA announcer in the majors, joining Reel Brooks-Moon (Giants), Marysol Castro (Mets) and Amelia Schimmel (Athletics).
“This is a dream come true, and I am honored to be the next voice of Oriole Park at Camden Yards,” Roberson said in a statement. “To be able to cultivate my passion, bring my voice to our historic ballpark, and announce the same players I saw come through our minor league system as they now make their way to Oriole Park at Camden Yards is incredibly exciting. I know the future of Birdland is very bright.”
Roberson spent the past 17 seasons as PA announcer for the Double-A Bowie Baysox. She replaces Ryan Wagner, who served as Orioles PR announcer from 2012 to opening day 2021.
