Orioles and Blue Jays lineups

The Orioles ended their losing streak last night at eight games and Cedric Mullins took over the American League lead in hits with 84.

They’ll try to keep the momentum going this afternoon against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.

Mullins has five career home runs against the Blue Jays, the most versus any opponent. Last night’s four RBIs set a new career high.

Mullins tied the club record of being hit in three consecutive games. It’s happened seven times, most recently with Jonathan Schoop in 2016.

Austin Hays is on the bench today. He’s 4-for-13 (.308) in his last three games, with a home run, three RBIs, one run scored, one walk and a stolen base.

DJ Stewart is in left field, Anthony Santander is in right and Ryan Mountcastle is the designated hitter.

Dean Kremer is 0-6 with a 6.65 ERA and 1.546 WHIP in 10 starts. He’s surrendered 11 home runs in 43 1/3 innings.

Kremer has never faced the Blue Jays.

Right-hander Alek Mahoah, the 11th overall pick in the 2019 draft out of West Virginia University, has made four starts in his rookie season and allowed six earned runs (seven total) and 14 hits in 20 1/3 innings. He’s walked eight batters and struck out 21.

Mahoah has permitted one earned run or fewer in three starts. Right-handers are 6-for-46 (.130) against him and left-handers are 8-for-28 (.286).

The Blue Jays have lost five games in a row. Last night marked the seventh time they were held to four hits or fewer.
