Steve Pearce charged DeJesus' shallow fly ball in left field and made a diving catch to end the sixth, and he threw out Cabrera trying to stretch a single into a double in the seveth. Caleb Joseph was charged with an error in the third when he misplayed Cabrera's popup in foul ground. Joseph singled in his first two at-bats. Everth Cabrera stole second base, making him 2-for-4 this spring. Reimold's homer made him 13-for-41 (.317) with two homers, eight RBIs and seven walks. A third home run was erased by the rainout.

Gausman allowed four runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings in his final start of spring training.

"I felt good," he said. "Stuff-wise, I was really good. I left a couple of pitches up. More than any of them, I left a slider up to (Desmond) Jennings for a base hit. Other than that, I felt pretty good. I thought I was hitting a lot of spots."

Three of the runs off Gausman came in the third.

"I think that one inning kind of got away from me a little bit," he said. "A couple of bounces different ways and my line probably looks a lot different, but that's baseball and you have to deal with that.

"Obviously, I'm not happy about the line, but I felt like I had good stuff. I commanded my off-speed pretty well. I think they just kind of came out hacking. I didn't really make an adjustment probably until the third inning and I got my ground balls, but just the way we were positioned, a couple of them were pretty tough plays to make. Just one of those days."

Gausman hasn't been told whether he's starting or relieving when the Orioles break camp this weekend.

"I have no idea," he said. "It's a flip of the coin. I don't really know anything. I'm waiting just like everybody else."

Update: Batting for the first time today, Nolan Reimold hit a solo home run to left field in the eighth inning to reduce Tampa Bay's lead to 4-3.

Reimold has two homers this spring and a third was washed away by the rainout.

Steve Clevenger followed with a double, but he was stranded.
