Bryce Harper returns after violent collision (with lineups)

PHILADELPHIA - Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper returns to the lineup tonight after a brutal collision knocked him out of yesterday's game. Harper ran into Marlins second baseman Derek Dietrich while attempting to make a running turn at the bag on his way to third on Jayson Werth's inning-ending groundout.

The violent impact left Harper on his back as Nationals manager Matt Williams and head athletic trainer Lee Kuntz rushed out to tend to him. Harper left the game for precautionary reasons and Williams later revealed that the young slugger passed all of the concussion tests.

Jordan-Zimmermann-NLDS.jpgHarper's .333 batting average continues to lead the National League while his .463 on-base percentage, .648 slugging percentage and 1.111 OPS are the best marks in the majors.

Right-hander Jordan Zimmermann makes his second start of the season against Philadelphia. Zimmermann allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks over 6 1/3 innings in a 5-3 loss to the Phillies at Nationals Park on April 18.

Zimmermann is 4-0 with a 3.26 ERA in his last five starts.
