VIERA, Fla. - Roger Bernadina went 0-for-3 with a walk, but the Netherlands beat Cuba 6-3 last night in the opening second-round game of the World Baseball Classic. Orioles infield prospect Jonathan Schoop blasted a three-run homer and Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons had two hits as the Netherlands continued its hot play to start the WBC. Team USA opens play at 9 p.m. tonight as R.A. Dickey will take the mound facing Mexico. Ross Detwiler is scheduled to piggyback Ryan Vogelsong in tomorrow's game, in which Team USA will face Italy. Back here in Viera, we'll see nearly all of the Nationals' regulars against the Cardinals this afternoon. Denard Span is the only starter not playing today; the Nats center fielder is sitting today after suiting up for the last three straight. Wilson Ramos will start behind the plate, his second game catching this spring. You can catch today's game at 1:05 p.m. on MASN.
