Game 119 lineups: Nats vs. Blue Jays

After a string of games against the National League East's remaining contenders, the Nationals now take a break for a quick interleague series. They'll host the Blue Jays tonight and Wednesday afternoon (weather permitting), which means a little bit of a reunion.

Thumbnail image for Riley Adams swing blue sidebar.jpgIt was just a few weeks ago that Brad Hand was dealt to Toronto in exchange for Riley Adams. We don't know if we'll see Hand out of the Blue Jays bullpen tonight or not, but we will see Adams in the Nats lineup. The rookie catcher is batting eighth against his former club and will work with Erick Fedde.

Fedde is coming off a solid if unspectacular start last week in New York in which he allowed two runs over four innings in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Citi Field. This is actually Fedde's second start this season against the Blue Jays and his first one was one of his best of 2021. Way back on April 28, the right-hander held Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and company to one run and two hits over six strong innings in Dunedin, Fla. Obviously, a lot has changed since then, but tonight Fedde gets another crack at that lineup.

It's the usual Nats lineup against Blue Jays righty Alek Manoah, who is off to a fantastic start. The 23-year-old, a first-round pick in the 2019 draft, is 5-1 with a 2.59 ERA in 11 starts, striking out 71 in only 59 innings.

A friendly reminder that tonight's game can be watched only on YouTube. It'll be Scott Braun, Dan Plesac and some guy named Dan Kolko with the call. Check below for a direct link to the live stream.
