Game 58 lineups: Nats at White Sox

CHICAGO - Hello from the South Side, where the Nationals are appearing for the first time since the John McLaren Era. For those who have forgotten, that was June 24-26, 2011, when McLaren served as Nats manager for three games following Jim Riggleman's surprise resignation and before Davey Johnson took over, and proceeded to go 2-1 against the White Sox. That technically makes McLaren the most successful manager in team history, at least based on that .667 winning percentage.

But anyways, that was a long time ago and things have changed dramatically since then. Tonight, Dusty Baker leads this version of the Nationals into U.S. Cellular Field for the opener of a three-game, interleague series with the Pale Hose, trying to finish off this nine-game road trip in style. The Nats swept the Phillies, then lost two of three to the Reds, now will take on a Chicago club that started off hot but has been in a tailspin recently, losing 10 of their last 12.

Since we're in an American League park, the Nationals get to use a designated hitter for the series. Tonight, Jayson Werth will hold that role, giving Michael A. Taylor a chance to play center field (and bat ninth) and Ben Revere to slide over to left field. Also of note: Ryan Zimmerman is back from paternity leave, but he's not back in the No. 5 spot in the order. Instead, the .350-hitting Wilson Ramos will bat behind Daniel Murphy, with Zimmerman batting sixth.

Joe Ross gets the start for the Nationals, with veteran right-hander Mat Latos on the hill for the White Sox ...
