Game 66 lineups: Nats at White Sox

CHICAGO - Good afternoon from whatever this stadium is called these days. To me, it'll always be Comiskey Park. Or, actually, New Comiskey Park, since the original one was across the street. The Nationals make their third-ever trip here to the South Side, having won two of three both in 2011 ("The John McLaren Series") and in 2016 ("The Beat Up on Mat Latos and James Shields Series").

This is a different White Sox team, but just as they did last week in D.C., the Nats do catch a bit of a break. Lucas Giolito isn't pitching again. Instead the Sox tonight send journeyman Odrisamer Despaigne to the mound in something of an emergency start. Despaigne, 32, has appeared in 106 career major league games (47 starts) for four different organizations, during which time he owns a 4.94 ERA. He had been pitching well in Triple-A (3.34 ERA in 12 games) but there's no telling what he'll bring to the table tonight.

Kendrick-Swing-Gray-Sidebar.jpgThe Nationals are using a designated hitter for the first time this season, and they picked a good time to do that. With almost everyone healthy and productive, this is as deep a lineup as they've fielded all year. Howie Kendrick will serve as DH, with Matt Adams at first base.

Aníbal Sánchez, meanwhile, looks to continue his strong return from a hamstring injury. He's allowed one run and five hits in 11 1/3 innings, including a good start against this same White Sox lineup last week.
