Game 74 lineups: Nats at Brewers

MILWAUKEE - The Nationals continue their 10-game road trip tonight at Miller Park, and send right-hander Max Scherzer to the mound in hopes of snapping out of a season-high five-game losing streak.

Scherzer hasn't seen a lot of the Brewers in his career, but has made three starts against them among his four appearances and carries a 1-0 record and 1.64 ERA into tonight's game. Yep, those are numbers that bring hope to a team with a black cloud circling over it.

He'll be opposed by right-hander Zach Davies, who is 5-3 with a 3.62 ERA in 12 starts. Davies gave up one run in seven innings on June 17 at Los Angeles against the Dodgers in no-decision. He's won five straight decisions over a span of his last nine starts after losing his first three starts of the season.

Davies has never faced the Nationals, or any player currently playing for them, largely because it's his first full major league season. Current Brewers carry an anemic .115/.169/.131 slash line against Scherzer. They've never homered off Scherzer, and outfielder Alex Presley has the only two RBIs off Scherzer from the current crop of Milwaukee hitters.

Since the Nationals moved from Montreal prior to the 2005 season, they have split 76 games against the Brewers. Washington is 15-23 at Miller Park, but 9-5 since 2012.

Michael A. Taylor remains in center field, with Ben Revere in left field and Jayson Werth getting a night off from the starting lineup.
