Game 93 lineups: Nats vs. Pirates (Rendon scratched)

It's going to be a scorcher this afternoon when the Nationals and Pirates take the field for their series finale, but at least it's going to be dry after last night's rain-delayed affair.

Murphy-Throws-White-Sidebar.jpgThe Nats are going for the sweep, not to mention a six-game winning streak sandwiched around the All-Star break. For the third straight day, they won't have Daniel Murphy in their lineup. Dusty Baker had indicated Murphy would likely be starting today at first base, and he both jogged and took batting practice yesterday apparently without incident. But perhaps with the first two games of this series already won and an off-day tomorrow before the Dodgers come to town, the Nationals decided not to risk it and just sit Murphy again today.

Max Scherzer is healthy and will be on the mound this afternoon, seeking his 11th win and seeking to continue the Nats rotation's dominant run. During this five-game winning streak, their starters are a combined 5-0, having allowed only five earned runs.

Rookie right-hander Chad Kuhl starts for Pittsburgh, facing the same lineup that took down Gerrit Cole last night.

Update: Third baseman Anthony Rendon has been scratched from today's game with flu-like symptoms. That's caused some juggling in the lineup - Rendon was supposed to hit cleanup - and will leave the Nats with a short bench. The new lineup appears below. Trea Turner will lead off and play second base, with Stephen Drew moving from second base to third base.
