Game 95 lineups: Nats at Diamondbacks

PHOENIX - Hello from Chase Field, where the roof is closed and the air conditioning is cranked up (thank God). It's a scorcher here in the Valley of the Sun, with temperatures actually below normal (101 degrees, as we speak) but the humidity unusually high. Welcome to monsoon season. No, seriously, you can look it up.

Anyway, the Nationals wrap up their long and winding road trip with a weekend series against a very good Diamondbacks club that currently holds the top wild card spot in the National League. Arizona did have to adjust its rotation in the last 48 hours, though, when Taijuan Walker was placed on the paternity leave list, pushing Patrick Corbin up to yesterday's start in Cincinnati and Zack Godley to tonight's start against the Nats. Tomorrow's starter remains TBA, with All-Star lefty Robbie Ray slated to go Sunday.

max-scherzer-clap-gray.jpgThe Diamondbacks also don't have newly acquired outfielder J.D. Martinez in tonight's lineup after he was struck by a pitch in his hand in his debut. So Max Scherzer catches a break there, though the Nats ace still is facing a lineup anchored by Paul Goldschmidt and featuring plenty more dangerous hitters in a home-run-heavy ballpark.
