Starting lineups: Cardinals vs. Nationals in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - How does new Nationals manager Davey Martinez combat the arrival of daylight saving time?

How about letting the Nationals sleep in?

Martinez pushed back the clubhouse opening time for today to 9 a.m., an hour later than usual. Coincidentally, the Nationals - and pretty much everyone else reading this - lost an hour of sleep last night as clocks sprung forward at 2 a.m.

I don't know about you, but an extra hour of sleep, replacing the one lost overnight, sounds pretty sweet. Too bad Martinez can't regulate internal body clocks, too.

Sorry to tell you that the forecast today isn't exactly the kind of chamber of commerce weather that south Florida banks on. While it'll be warm, pushing 80 degrees, there is also a high probability of rain this afternoon with a chance of thunderstorms. Yesterday's game finished in a steady drizzle, so the Nats are hoping to get today's game against the Cardinals in without any interruptions from precipitation.

roark-players-uniform.jpgRight-hander Tanner Roark is scheduled to make his fourth spring start this afternoon, and he's yet to allow an earned run through eight innings. Roark has yielded three hits, one walk and struck out eight, and boasts a miniscule 0.50 WHIP and 1.07 opponent batting average.

Just a reminder, today's game will be broadcast on MASN, with Bob Carpenter, F.P. Santangelo and Dan Kolko bringing you all the action.
