Clubhouse quotes after the O's win over Tampa

Some quotes from Chris Tillman, Nick Markakis and Corey Patterson after the Orioles 8-7 win over the Rays on Sunday. It was the O's first series win this year vs. an AL East team other than Boston. Tillman on his outing: "I felt good. Overall, I thought it went well. I think all my pitches were there. It kind of rolled over from Norfolk and I think that's a good thing. "I just want to go out there and do my best, carry it over from Norfolk what I had going, and I think we're playing real well. I think I could've used my cutter a little bit better. These guys are pretty comfortable up there. That seems like the next step. Overall, I think I did pretty good." Tillman on his scoreless, 23-pitch first inning: "When you have those tough early innings, it kind of makes for an early exit. I think that first inning definitely set the tone. Especially when we put the runs on the board there, I definitely wanted to go out there and make it a quick one. I think it was the pace of the game that went well. Obviously they put up some big numbers in the first inning, kind of a slow inning but overall it worked out." Tillman, did you think about that July start vs. Tampa when they scored eight runs off you?: "You know, last night it was in my head and I had to tell myself, I just got to carry it over from what I've been doing. Go out there and do the best I can. Last night it was definitely there, but woke up this morning and I had to clear my head and get ready for this game." Markakis on taking two of three from Tampa: "It's a win, whether it's from this team or any other team. That's our goal, we want to keep it going and we are getting timely hitting and pitching. That's what we need to do." Markakis on scoring eight runs in back-to-back games: "The approach guys have at the plate and the at bats that we're having, that's what you like to see. We still have a lot to learn, we haven't played together as a team that long, we've had a lot of injuries." Patterson on the victory: "It's a great win for us. They're fighting for a playoff spot. We know we had to up our concentration and focus, you have to do that any way no matter who you are playing. "Maybe it's our playoffs in a sense, I think. It shows we can play with anybody at the top of the division or the middle of the pack."
