Corey's catch (with updates)

Corey Patterson is winning the fans over quickly at Camden Yards. He just made a leaping catch at the wall to end the top of the third and rob Shin-Soo Choo of his fifth homer. This after he led off the bottom of the first with a ground single to center. He just led off the last of the third with another single and is now 5 for 11 as an Oriole. So he cut down a run at the plate to end yesterday's game and kept a run off the board today in the third. O's trail 1-0 in the last of the third. With two outs and none on in the top of the first, Jeremy Guthrie walked a guy, then hit a guy and gave up Jhonny Peralta's blooper RBI single. Update: Patterson just raced around the bases to score on Adam Jones triple for a 1-1 tie. Update 2: O's took a 2-1 lead in the third on Jones' triple and Luke Scott's RBI single. Scott is 2 for 2 tonight making him now 8 for 17 over his last five games with three homers and 7 RBI. He also has six hits over his last ten at bats. He entered tonight 2 for 22 on the year with runners in scoring position. The O's have left five men on base through three. Update 3: The O's have had runners all over the bases through four innings tonight but are just 2 for 10 with runners in scoring position and have already left seven men on base. They have a 2-1 lead but have to hope chances that got away from them early in the game, don't come back to bite them later. Guthrie, meanwhile, is cruising since the first and has now retired 13 in a row as the O's lead 2-1 in the middle of the fifth. Guthrie threw 25 pitches in the first, but has thrown just 47 over the last four frames. Update 4: Miguel Tejada's two-run single in the 6th makes it a 4-1 O's lead and knocks Justin Masterson out of the game. Aaron Laffey is on. Scott and Wigginton added RBI singles after Tejada's clutch hit and the O's scored four in the 6th to open a 6-1 lead for Guthrie. They did leave the bases loaded and have stranded 12 runners tonight. Tonight's attendance: 25,902. Nolan Reimold went 0 for 3 with a walk tonight in his first game since joining Norfolk as the Tides lost 5-3 at Buffalo. Chris Tillman gave up eight hits and five runs over six frames to take the loss and is now 3-4, 3.83.
