Coulombe reinstated from injured list (plus notes)

Left-hander Danny Coulombe is rejoining the Orioles’ bullpen tonight.

Coulombe was reinstated from the 15-day injured list after one appearance with Triple-A Norfolk on his rehab assignment. Left-hander Nick Vespi was optioned for the fourth time this season.

Left biceps tendinitis forced Coulombe on the IL after he posted a 2.77 ERA and 1.103 WHIP in 47 games. He’s struck out 48 batters and surrendered only three home runs in 39 innings.

This is the second bullpen move in two days. Mike Baumann was optioned yesterday, with Austin Voth reinstated from the 60-day IL.

The Orioles have a chance tonight to win their 25th series and beat the Blue Jays for the 10th time in 13 games.

They haven’t lost a series against a division opponent in the last 10, three short of the club record set in 1969, per STATS.

Anthony Santander returned to the lineup last night and registered his 13th career multi-homer game. His 23 home runs lead the club.

Ryan Mountcastle’s on-base streak has reached 28 games, the longest by an Orioles player since Nick Markakis’ 38-game stretch in 2009.

Kyle Gibson is bumped up to tonight, the rotation adjusted by Jack Flaherty’s removal. He’s faced the Blue Jays twice this season and gone 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA, allowing two runs in 13 innings.

Gibson and Dean Kremer are tied for the team lead with 12 wins. Gibson has registered 13 quality starts.

Danny Jansen is 6-for-10 with three doubles against Gibson. Matt Chapman is 2-for-20 with a double, home run and strikeouts.

The Orioles have won seven of their last 10 games and 15 of 22. The stubborn Rays remain two back in the division race.

Jays right-hander José Berríos has registered a 3.39 ERA in 25 starts. He shut out the Orioles on three hits over 7 2/3 innings on June 14 at Camden Yards.

Berríos is 10-0 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.063 WHIP in 13 career starts against the Orioles. Adley Rutschman is 8-for-13 with two doubles and a home run against him. James McCann is 8-for-24 with two doubles and four home runs. Ryan O’Hearn is 7-for-22 with two doubles and two home runs.
