Game 62 lineups: Rangers at Nats

Right-hander Max Scherzer gets the start today as the Nationals look to prevent their first home series sweep of the season. The Rangers won the first two games of the series, 5-2 on Friday and 6-3 in 11 innings on Saturday.

He has compiled 24 2/3 innings, allowing just two earned runs on 11 hits with four walks and an astounding 38 strikeouts in winning three games in a row. He is 7-3 with a 2.35 ERA over 84 1/3 innings and 12 starts to begin 2017.

The Rangers counter with right-hander Austin Bibens-Dirkx who spent most of the 2012 season in the Nationals system. He pitched two spring games for the Nationals that year, going 2 1/3 innings and allowing one earned run. The 32-year-old combined to go 1-3 with a 4.91 ERA between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse for 58 2/3 innings in 2012.

First baseman Ryan Zimmerman dealing with a back issue and gets another day of rest. He said he expects to be back in the lineup Monday night against the Braves. Bryce Harper bats second in this lineup. Trea Turner also gets a day off.
