Game 108 lineups: Nats vs. Braves

The Nationals still have a shot at a series win today as they turn to former Braves starter Aníbal Sánchez to work his magic.

Sanchez-Pitch-White-sidebar.jpgSánchez has won six games in a row dating back to May 29 when he fired six shutout innings of one-hit ball in Atlanta. He struck out seven and walked only one for his first win of the season. The six-game streak is the second longest win streak of his career.sanchez

Sánchez is 2-0 with 3.71 ERA in three starts (17 innings) against the Braves this season, with 17 strikeouts and five walks.

The Braves will hand the ball to right-hander Mike Soroka (10-2, 2.44 ERA) who was rolling until the Nats beat him 5-3 July 20 by scoring four runs on nine hits over six innings. Sánchez was better and won that game by allowing only three runs over five innings.

After today's game, the Nats and Braves faceoff seven more times in the regular season, September 5-8 in Atlanta and September 13-15 back here in D.C.

Shortstop Trea Turner, who homered late in Tuesday's 11-8 loss, knows there is still something on the table today before the club ventures off to Arizona.

"Chance to win a series," Turner said. "Both teams, any time you can win a series at this point in the year it's good. Going to have a tough game (today) against Soroka but I think we got a shot and hopefully we can get series win."
