Guthrie pitches O's past Twins, 5-1

Jeremy Guthrie put together a second straight strong start to pick up his 9th win as the Orioles beat the Twins 5-1 Wednesday in the final contest of a nine-game road trip. The O's ended the trip 4-5 and won the season series from the Twins, three wins to two. It's their first season series win vs. Minnesota since 2002. The O's win snapped Minnesota's five-game win streak.

Guthrie allowed just one run and six hits over seven innings, throwing 112 pitches. He improves to 9-12, 5.26. Over his last two starts, Guthrie is 2-0, 1.29. The Orioles, who never trailed in the game, took a 2-0 lead in the first. Nolan Reimold plated one with an infield single and run two scored on an error. Catcher Chad Moeller reached base four times, with two hits and two walks and had two RBI. Felix Pie hit a solo homer, his 5th of the year. The O's lost the first two games of this trip, then won four of the last seven. They are 12-27 since the All-Star break.
