Hernandez gets the win as the O's edge the A's

David Hernandez rebounded from two sub-par starts to win his 4th game of the year as the Orioles beat the Oakland A's 3-2 Tuesday in front of 23,006 at Camden Yards. The O's ended a nine-game losing streak vs. the A's and beat Oakland for the first time since July 22, 2007. Hernandez, who picked up his first win since July 26th, gave up two runs and six hits over 6 2/3. He is now 4-4, 3.81. He recorded a season-high six strikeouts.

The Orioles scored twice in the 5th to take a 3-2 lead. The bottom of the order started that rally as Chad Moeller singled and went to third on a single by Cesar Izturis. Brian Roberts' RBI single made it 2-2 and an Adam Jones' RBI grounder gave the O's the 3-2 edge. Roberts had three hits and Melvin Mora's groundout scored the O's first run. Jim Johnson pitched a scoreless 9th to record his fourth save. The O's snapped a six-game losing streak in games decided by one run. The O's improve to 29-27 at home and 7-18 in the second half.
