In the minors tonight

On the farm tonight - Triple-A Norfolk hosts Durham after losing the season opener 5-3 last night. The Tides struck out 14 times, their most since May of 2008. Jake Arrieta makes his season debut tonight. Last year with the Tides, he went 5-8, 3.93 in 17 starts. The next homer for Scott Moore will be the 100th of his minor league career. Today is Dennis Sarfate's 29th birthday. Steve Johnson pitches for Bowie tonight vs. Richmond. That is in the second game. The first game begins at 6:05 and is the resumption of Thursday's suspended game with Bowie leading 1-0 in the fifth. After having its opener rained out, Frederick plays at Lynchburg tonight. Lefty Rick Zagone is the scheduled starter. This is the Keys 22nd season in Frederick. Delmarva (0-1) plays at Greensville. Jake Cowan gets the start. Cowan, who was drafted by Boston in round 14 in 2007, but did not sign, went 1-2, 2.25 for Aberdeen last year. Ryan Berry made his O's minor league debut last night for Delmarva and gave up one run over five innings. He got 11 ground-ball outs.
