Marlins grab the lead (updated)

Brian Matusz entered the top of the seventh having retired 11 batters in a row. But now, Florida has pushed across a tie-breaking run to gain a 5-4 lead after they trailed 4-0 in the second inning. Matusz walked Mike Stanton on a 3-1 pitch to start the inning. After he advanced to second on a ground out, Ronny Paulino's double just inside the right-field line scored Stanton for a 5-4 lead, the Marlins first lead of the night. The next hitter,Chris Coughlan has just doubled off the left-field wall to make it 6-4 and knock Matusz out of the game. David Hernandez has come on. So Matusz will give up at least six runs tonight, the most he has allowed since he yielded six to Oakland on May 26th. And Matusz will now remain winless over his last 12 starts since April 18th. Tonight's attendance is 13,720. Matusz's final line tonight: 6 1/3 IP, 7H, 6R-ER, 2B, 3K, 2 HR....107 pitches. Matusz tonight: 6 ER in 6 1/3IP. Matusz, previous four starts: 7 ER over 26 1/3 IP.
