The Orioles go for the sweep this afternoon with Jordan Westburg in his third starting role in three games.
Westburg is playing third base after serving as designated hitter and playing second. He also moved over to shortstop last night in the ninth inning.
Ramón Urías goes to the bench today, with Jorge Mateo at second base.
Adley Rutschman is the designated hitter. Gunnar Henderson stays atop the order, with Cedric Mullins batting seventh.
Tyler Wells won the job as the No. 3 starter in spring training after allowing two runs in 14 1/3 innings. He’s made five career appearances against the Angels, including two starts, and allowed six runs with 14 strikeouts in 13 innings.
Mike Trout is 3-for-5 with two home runs against Wells.
Reliever Cionel Pérez wasn’t at his locker this morning during media access and there are no immediate updates on his lower-back soreness. But the club didn’t announce a roster move.
The Angels called a team meeting after last night’s loss, and after being outscored 24-7 in the first two games.
Left-hander Reid Detmers allowed five runs and struck out 24 batters in 18 1/3 spring innings, but he also walked 11. He’s held the Orioles to three earned runs in 17 2/3 innings in three career starts.

Update: Pérez was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right oblique strain and right-hander Jonathan Heasley was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.
This sounds more serious than lower-back discomfort, which is how the injury was described last night.
Heasley came to the Orioles in a Dec. 18 trade with the Royals. He appeared in eight exhibition games and allowed four runs and 11 hits in 8 2/3 innings.
One run and four hits came in the final game against the Twins in Fort Myers.
Heasley appeared in 36 games with the Royals over the past three seasons and posted a 5.45 ERA 1.436 WHIP in 133 2/3 innings. His first 24 appearances were starts in 2021-22.
