Orioles' minor league teams are playing well now

Charlie Sheen would like the Orioles' minor league affiliates these days as they have been doing a lot of winning lately. Triple-A Norfolk has won four of its last six games to get to 7-15 on the season. Double-A Bowie is 6-3 over its past nine games to get to 11-10. Single-A Frederick has won five of six to get to 10-10 and Single-A Delmarva has won eight in a row to improve to 13-9. That is the Shorebirds' longest win streak since a nine-gamer in May of 2006. At Norfolk, Brandon Snyder is 10-for-31 during a seven-game batting streak with four doubles, two homers and five RBIs while Ryan Adams is 8-for-22 during a five-game streak and is 9-for-18 on the year versus left-handed pitchers. For Bowie, catcher Caleb Joseph has five RBIs the past two games and has improved his numbers over the last two weeks. He is now batting .286 with two homers and 10 RBIs along with an OPS of .859. Xavier Avery is now doing more than stealing bases. He is 8-for-19 over the past five games and his average is up to .253. Frederick pitcher Ryan O'Shea is fifth in the Carolina League with an ERA of 1.99 and Bobby Bundy is eighth at 2.37. Bundy gave up just one run last night and over his last two starts has pitched 12 innings, yielding just one run with one walk to 16 strikeouts. Delmarva's team continues to hit well and is second in the South Atlantic League in runs, hits and on-base percentage and is first in walks. The Birds have scored five runs or more now in 15 straight games. Catcher Justin Dalles has hit safely in all nine games he has played, batting .308 with two homers and 10 RBIs on the year. Manny Machado is 9-for-19 during a five-game batting streak with two doubles, three homers and seven RBIs.
