Orioles release 2017 schedule

BOSTON - The Orioles travel to Cincinnati in April and Milwaukee in July as part of their 2017 schedule, which was released this afternoon.

The interleague portion also includes two games against the Pirates at Camden Yards on June 6-7 and two games in Pittsburgh on Sept. 26-27 on the final road trip of the regular season.

The Orioles travel to Milwaukee for games on July 3-5. The Cardinals come to Camden Yards on June 16-18 and the Cubs play a three-game series at Camden Yards on July 14-16, their first stop in Baltimore since 2003.

The Orioles and Nationals will have a home-and-home series on May 8-11, with the first two games again played at Camden Yards.

The regular season concludes with a three-game series against the Rays on Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 1 at Tropicana Field.

As I wrote yesterday, the Orioles host the Blue Jays on opening day on April 3. They play a second game on April 5, followed by another off day and three home games against the Yankees.

Two open dates on the schedule in the first four days. Sounds unusual.

There are five off days in April, but only two in May and August.

The Red Sox provide the first road opponent, with the teams playing a two-game series on April 11-12. That's followed by four games in Toronto, an off day and three games in Cincinnati.

The All-Star break runs from July 10-13 after a four-game series in Minnesota.

The Orioles make only one trip to the West Coast, which should thrill manager Buck Showalter. They're in Anaheim, Oakland and Seattle for a stretch of 10 games from August 7-16.

Here's the complete schedule, with times to be added later. Click the image below for a full-sized, downloadable schedule.
